Other Issues in Media and Society

My last posting will be devoted to commentary and recommendations of my classmates blogs, enjoy reading them! 1. If you are interested in issues related to print vs. digital media as a source of information, be sure that you check Nina's blog: https://modernxprintmedia.wordpress.com . Nina discusses the issues related to credibility of those types of sources and also, if the print media in todays modern, digital age is near to die out. Further, she also suggests interesting video in the section "For Further Research", which is also discussing this issue.

2. Next blog, which is serving the crucial, but unfortunately, truthful reality, is Jessica's blog: https://jessiescolumn.wordpress.com . Here, Jessica is discussing the media's influence of drinking alcohol, especially on teenagers. She is describing, why targeting teenagers is so easy and how this age group reacts to it. Further, she uses several interesting examples which will make you agree with her statement - there is a correlation between media promotion of alcohol and teenage alcohol drinking.

3. If you are wondering, whether there is a correlation between media and eating disorders, check this out: https://eatingdisordersandmediablog.wordpress.com. Tereza is familiarizing us with this issue and overall problem of media and its influence on people's appearance and perception of beauty.

4. Next blog: https://osservatoresite.wordpress.com ,that interested me, is devoted to the topic How violence in media affects society. Carla is giving us there interesting perspective, that if and how are those two topic related to each other. She is also closely discussing the actual topic of ISIS and its portrayal and impact that media creates.

5. Last blog I would like to reccomend is: https://rudanbalay.wordpress.com. Rudan offers a great analysis how negatively media portrays women. Further, she is discussing some of the current issues related to this topic and actually, why the negative portrayal exists at all and what society could improve to change this issue.
